We were fortunate to have someone take a chance on us, and we wanted to make that chance accessible to more people. Headstart connects students with real micro-internships, so gaining that first bit of experience isn’t so difficult. We believe everyone should have that chance.

In her first year, Evelyn was a freelance photographer, and those gigs led her to meet different founders and teams through word of mouth and early networking. One founder took a chance on her with a first proper opportunity, which helped her build experience steadily from there. She later completed a Summer Strategy role at AIA Group, then joined BCG as a Summer Associate, and will be starting as a full-time Associate later this year.

Kyle moved to the UK and found it unexpectedly difficult to get that first piece of work experience. After applying widely, a startup founder gave him an initial opportunity that became a turning point. Once he started doing real work in a real team, it was much easier to build momentum and progress to the next roles. He went on to work across three startups, later joining BCG in London as a Summer Associate and is now working as a full-time Associate on the graduate programme.
